HAITI IS EXPERINCING UNREST AND INSECUIRTY AFTER THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE INCREASE IN FUEL PRICES.
FOLLOWING THE ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE INCREASE IN FUEL PRICES IN HAITI BY PRIME MINISTER ARIEL HENRY
“We’re going to raise the price of gas to make sure the government collects enough money to keep the country running. We can’t keep on subsidizing gas for people who can pay full price and buy the gas to sell it on the black market,” he said. Everywhere in the streets there are blown tires, all institutions are closed including Our Office (DFI) because employees can not take the streets to work, ambushes are set up everywhere, etc… The Haitian people are expressing their frustration with the decision of the head of the government. As insecurity increases and inflation is at an all-time high, the majority of Haitians are left economically vulnerable.
Haiti needs your support more than ever. By supporting DFI you can help contribute to income-generating programs, educational and vocational training, and empowering the population to change Haiti for future generations.
