AGAPE, the boys’ house, is one of the centers we have at DFI where we receive boys from the streets. We welcome them, we offer them a home where they are fed and can feel safe. We also make sure they go to school. We have people in the center who are very careful about their education.
This year again our boys have completed the academic year with good results. And now that they are on vacation, they need to be busy.
The managers of the house AGAPE have wisely thought to offer them holiday activities to fill their days. One of these activities was the Vacation Bible School.
This activity was in fact an evangelization club organized with the help of the AEE, the Association pour l’Evangélisation des Enfants. Indeed, for 4 days, that is to say from August 2 to 5, 2022, AEE’s instructors came regularly to AGAPE to spend about 2 hours of time each day with our boys. On the program were lively songs, Bible verses to learn, lessons on life on certain biblical characters like Samuel, Ruth, Peter (the disciple of Jesus) and others. Our boys, from 7 to 24 years old, have all had a great time with AEE. On the last day they had the visit of Mrs Helen who had to talk to them a little to the delight of the children.
The most important thing for us at Development for Freedom International, beyond taking children off the streets, is to teach them the message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We want them to be able to meet God and create a personal relationship with this spiritual father.
